Fees that changed in 2026
- Japan: from 1 July 2026 the 10-year passport fell from ¥15,900 to ¥8,900 online 15
- Malaysia: a 10-year passport for RM350 from 1 July 2026, next to the RM200 5-year passport 18
- South Korea: new fees from 1 March 2026, with ₩52,000 for a 58-page 10-year passport 28
- Canada: the fee regulations were last amended on 26 January 2026 and set C$135 for a 10-year passport in Canada, plus a C$25 consular fee 4,5
Figures to read with care
- Australia: the official fee determination set A$398 for 2024 and raises it each calendar year by an index 1. The passport office lists A$422 as of 1 January 2026 36
- Jamaica: the PICA fee table is dated 1 June 2015 and is still the one on its site 13
- Mexico: the peso amounts are from the Federal Fees Law. The foreign ministry fee page could not be opened 20
- Bangladesh: the amounts come from a national news agency report of 4 March 2025, as the official portal could not be opened 2
- Canada: the fee regulations set a C$135 passport fee plus a C$25 consular fee 4,5. The Government of Canada lists C$163.50 for a 10-year adult passport from 31 March 2026 37
- India: Passport Seva says fees changed on 1 July 2026, and press reports give ₹2,500 for a 36-page adult passport 38,39. The older official fee sheet still shows ₹1,500 10
- New Zealand: the fee page was last updated on 2 May 2025 22
- Netherlands: €88.65 is a maximum and your town may charge less 21
Extra costs to plan for
Most countries charge more for fast service. The US expedite fee is US$60 33. Germany adds €32 for express 7. India adds ₹2,000 for Tatkaal 10. The Philippines charges ₱1,200 for expedited processing 25.
Applying from abroad usually costs more. Nigerians abroad pay US$150 for a 5-year passport 23, and South Africans abroad pay R1,200 27.
