A Jamaican adult passport costs J$6,500 in Jamaica and US$80 or £50 overseas 1. A minor's passport costs J$4,000 1. Rush service for adults costs J$9,500 for three working days, J$11,500 for next day and J$16,500 for same day 1. These fees took effect on 1 June 2015 and are the newest on the PICA site 1. Adult passports are valid for 10 years 2.

Jamaican passport fee table

The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) lists these fees, in effect since 1 June 2015 1. Regular service takes seven working days in Kingston and 14 in Montego Bay 1.

Expedited service at regional offices

The May Pen, Fairview, Mandeville, Portland and St. Ann's Bay offices offer expedited service 1. An adult pays J$11,500 for five days or J$9,500 for seven days 1. A minor pays J$7,000 or J$6,000 1.

Renewal and children

Adults can renew online or use simplified renewal 3. First-time applicants cannot use the online service 4.

A parent or legal guardian applies for a child under 18 4. Children aged three and older must attend in person 4. Passports for people under 18 are valid for five years 2.

If you report a passport lost or stolen, it is no longer valid and you must not use it to travel, even if you find it later 2. A recovered passport must be handed in 2.

How to pay and apply

Pay for local applications in Jamaican dollars 1. You apply at a PICA office, online for adult renewals, or at a Jamaican consulate or high commission abroad 2. You need a certified photo and a countersigned form 4.

Applying from abroad

PICA's overseas fee is US$80 or £50 for an adult, and consulates may add a processing and remittance fee 1. The Jamaican High Commission in Ottawa lists US$120 for an adult and US$90 for a minor, payable by money order 5.
